What is Priority Mail Regional Rate shipping?

Regional Rate is an economic USPS mail service that leverages the shipment’s distance to destination.

Regional Rate service can be a boon for businesses that don’t send overweight packages. They offer two boxes to ship packages in:

Box A top loading: 10-1/8" x 7-1/8" x 5"
Box A side loading: 13-1/16" x 11-1/16" x 2-1/2"
Box A weight limit: 15 lbs.

Box B top loading: 12-1/4" x 10-1/2" x 5-1/2"
Box B side loading: 16-1/4" x 14-1/2" x 3"
Box B weight limit: 20 lbs

Since it’s not a flat rate service, Regional Rate offers discounts to packages traveling between certain zones. Since it’s also not determined by weight, Regional Rate can unlock much cheaper rates than even some flat rate services.
