USPS July 13, 2025 Price Change
by EasyPost
USPS will be releasing a series of rate and service updates starting July 13, 2025. To be prepared, we’ve assembled all you need to know to ensure your USPS packages are good to go.
U.S. domestic shipping rate changes in 2025
While some U.S. domestic services will see rate changes, a majority of them won’t. Priority Mail Express® and International Products will all maintain their current rates.
Below are the services that will receive rate updates. On average, you can expect to see the following increases:
- Priority Mail®: 6.3% increase in Retail rates.
- USPS Ground Advantage®: 7.1% increase in Retail rates.
USPS Nonstandard Fees are getting a shake-up
USPS’s Nonstandard Fees will be processed differently starting July 13, 2025. Please take note of these changes if you ship nonstandard parcels.
First, there will be new categories added to the Nonstandard Fee:

If a package fits more than one Length or Qualifying Package Characteristics Fee Type, only the greatest fee by dollar value is assessed. If both fees have the same dollar value, then the Qualifying Package Characteristics fee shall apply.
Second, the Nonstandard Fee will be applied at the rating and label purchasing stage. EasyPost will calculate and apply Length and Cubic fees automatically based on dimensions provided. However, if you have a USPS parcel with Qualifying Package Characteristics, you must declare it by setting “true” using the Additional Handling object. This will ensure the label is properly rated.
Parcels with a mailing date of July 13, 2025 or later will be impacted by the new rates. See our USPS Rate Chart page for the current rate details.
