Access to high-quality, affordable eyewear is Zenni Optical’s motto. Their mission was clear: Give people glasses they can actually afford but still make them look like a million bucks. It started as a small company with big ideas, but it quickly grew into a phenomenon. Fashionistas, moms on the go, discerning customers; everyone found that they could get the selection they deserved at prices they could afford with Zenni Optical. As Zenni Optical started to scale, they realized they needed a centralized system. With EasyPost, the Zenni Optical team could centralize through one computer for all of their stations using our Shipping API.
Previously Zenni Optical was using another system, where they needed a computer for each station, which made it challenging to manage all orders without falling behind. The implementation saves the company an average of two hours a day, per shift. In addition, it wasn’t a centralized system. They would need to download the tracking number repeatedly, which can quickly become a larger problem, like mislabelling tracking information or simply not following up with the correct one.
Since July 2019, Zenni Optical has been using EasyPost's Shipping API. The system has helped Zenni Optical provide its customers with the right real-time tracking data, ensuring packages are sent promptly with clear visibility for customers. EasyPost’s API also helped leadership monitor employee productivity, which enabled them to scale to an additional location.
Another improvement was their customer support. Previously, when their system was down, no one could do anything about it. Sometimes, they would have up to half a day of downtime. This would ultimately cost Zenni Optical to lose money, with an estimated downtime of 2-3 times a year. 12 hours x 30 employees would equate to an approximate $5,400 loss during each instance.
