What you need to know about USPS’s July 14 changes
Before we dive into the coming changes, here’s a quick overview:
- USPS Zones will remain the same.
- There are no price changes for USPS Ground Advantage, Priority Mail®, and Priority Mail Express® services during the July 14 price change. However, USPS will increase Merchant Discount prices for USPS Ground Advantage and Priority Mail® services on July 1, 2024. See our blog for full details.
- There are price changes for First-Class Mail letters, flats, postcards, insurance, and other special packages.
Not everything is changing
USPS shippers can rest assured there are minimal changes for the coming price change.
There is no Zone 10 in USPS’s July 14, 2024, price change
If you’ve been keeping an eye out for this price change, you might’ve heard of the proposed new Zone 10. At this time, there is no USPS Zone 10, as this proposal was dropped. Originally, this would have applied to a few routes revolving around Alaska, Hawaii, and the U.S. territories:

No rate changes for USPS Ground Advantage, Priority Mail®, and Priority Mail Express® services
If you currently ship using USPS Ground Advantage, Priority Mail®, or Priority Mail Express® services, you can expect your shipping expenses to remain the same. The rates for these services will not change on July 14, 2024.
USPS price changes for select domestic services and mail
USPS has announced a few price changes for select services. Here’s what’s changed.

USPS Postal Insurance
USPS is applying a price reduction to their postal insurance offering. You can expect to see a 10% reduced cost starting July 14, 2024.
