Damaged, lost, and stolen packages are nothing new. With $13.4 billion lost to package theft in 2023 alone, it feels like a part of doing business. But the headaches don’t end there.
There’s the whole ordeal of identifying how to submit your claim, gathering incident details, filing, and waiting for a response and resolution. While insurance helps businesses manage their risks and costs, unrefined processes can lead to massive losses in time.
We’re ready to turn the slow and manual process of protecting and refunding the inevitable lost package into a thing of the past. EasyPost is excited to release a new and improved insurance and claims solution. It’ll allow users to leverage our new Insurance and Claims Dashboard, Claims API, and Claims webform to take control of their insurance and claims experience.

Insurance and Claims Dashboard
The new Insurance and Claims dashboard is available for free to all EasyPost users. You can find it by logging in to your EasyPost account and selecting it from the left sidebar.
In the Insurance and Claims dashboard, you can:
- Access an overview summary of your claims. You can see all of the active claims that are in EasyPost review, are awaiting review, or require action from you.
- View, search, and sort through tables with all insurance coverage and claims on file. You can also filter by Claim Status and Reason.
- See your coverage at work with total protected value and approved claim value in dollar modules.
- Create reports for your insurance coverage and claims. You can choose the date range and test/production environment for your reports.
Claims API and Webform
Our new Claims API is the perfect complement to our Shipping Insurance. Integrating the Claims API into your platform places you in control of the branding and post-purchase experience for your customers. Additionally, the API increases efficiency when filing claims for damaged, lost, and stolen shipments when compared to manual filing.
And for UI users or those who don’t want to leverage the API, we’ve also released a new Claims webform that makes filing claims faster and easier. This form provides instant feedback to let you know if you’ve filed your claim successfully or if there are a few fields you need to fix before submission.
Updated Pricing
We appreciate all of our customers for trusting us with their packages. Over the past year, our engineers have worked hard to improve our insurance offering. As a result, we’ve released the feature updates above.
Starting July 23, 2024, EasyPost will increase the price for Shipping Insurance from 0.5% of your shipment’s value to 1%.
Please note there are no coverage changes. We protect your packages from damage, loss, and theft when shipping domestically and internationally with any carrier or service we support—all through one flat rate.
